Mosquito Management Policy

Council will adopt procedures that align with the ‘Living With Mosquitoes in the Lower Hunter and Mid North Coast Region of NSW” strategy 2005, and the Port Stephens Council consolidated Development Control Plan 2006.
This includes undertaking regional community education, mosquito monitoring and research, cost effective control programs that are in accordance with the principles of sustainability. A three year action plan will be developed to implement priority actions from the regional strategy. This will incorporate components from the mosquito awareness program subgroup which has been formed to develop and oversee a regional community awareness program.
