Code of Conduct

The Department of Local Government introduced the revised Model Code of Conduct for all NSW Councils on 20 June 2008.
Council has enhanced the Mode Code of Conduct to produce the Port Stephens Council Code of Conduct which was adopted by Council on 25 November 2008.
The Local Government Act 1993 requires council to adopt a code of conduct that incorporates the provisions of 'The Model Code of Conduct for Local Councils in NSW'.
Councillors, council staff and delegates of the Council must comply with the applicable provisions of Council's Code of Conduct.
Council contractors and volunteers will also be required to observe the relevant provisions of council's Code of Conduct.
