 International Day Of People with Disabilities          

Port Stephens Council will be hosting this years annual International Day of Disabilities. We will be inviting people to attend a Garden Party at the NIOKA Centre, Little Beach, Nelson Bay on 3 December 2008.

The day will be celebrated with entertainment, a visit from Santa, a fire truck display, accessible sailing boats, motorbike rides and an aussie sausage sizzle.

MLAK Disabled Facilities in the Port Stephens Local Government Area

Disability Action Plan Port Stephens Council in conjunction with its community has designed a Disability Action Plan to further its intention of creating an equitable, inclusive and socially cohesive community.

A Disability Action Plan (DAP) is a document which: describes what a Port Stephens Council service provider intends on doing to make the services and facilities it already provides, or has control or influence over, as accessible to, and appropriate for, people with disabilities as can reasonably be achieved guides Council in eliminating discriminatory practices describes what action Council will take to further improve the physical and social environment for people with disabilities
